TOUR OF PHILADELPHIA WITH AMERICANS

​​WHAT: Walking Tour of Historic Philadelphia 
WHEN: Saturday afternoon, 9/15 
TIME:  1-5 PM, after that a FREE dinner at 6 p.m. at GOOD FOOD FLATS who are helping sponsor this event. 

The dinner is a mixer of returning and new students and is FREE to you, with our sponsors underwriting the cost for you.

​MEETING POINT:  Penn Book Store (36th St. & Walnut St.)
​MEETING POINT #2: 8th & Market St. at 1:30 PM.  
​TRANSPORTATION: SEPTA
​BRING: SEPTA card to ride the trolley. 
BBQ DINNER:  4030 Baring Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104 (Get off at Market and 40th and walk north about 5 minutes.  For Penn card holders, you can get the shuttle back to your dorm/apartment.


TOUR HIGHLIGHTS:
  • ​Pointing out some interesting museums
  • Seeing the location of the Liberty Bell, signing of Declaration of Independence & U.S. Constitution
  • Seeing where George Washington attended church
  • Penn’s Landing (original Philadelphia port)
  • End point is Franklin Square (6th St. & Race St.) at about 5 pm. 
  • Optional:  Dinner with new friends
